Check out this young, cute couple!  Jonathan and Reyna are so cute. They both have those beautiful big brown eyes.   Reyna really knows how to work the camera too.  She has this super cool, sassy look.  She can raise an eyebrow and her personality really comes through.  I think Jonathan was a little bit nervous at first but he warmed up to the camera in the end. We had such a fun shoot in the Heights.

I have neglected to post Lauren’s bridals for entirely too long.

Lauren looked absolutely beautiful. She took her bridals at Cullen’s, where her reception was held.   I had never been to Cullen’s before but I was impressed with how classy and modern the restaurant was.  I grew up on the west side of Houston and do not often venture south.  Cullen’s is definitely worth the trip.  I have been asking my husband to take me to there for dinner. I guess we will have to put it on the calendar and stop using the excuse that we are always busy.

Here are Lauren’s bridals.  I think she looked stunning!

Bathroom Remodel

January 1, 2012

Our bathroom is complete. Yay! It started out as a small project and grew. We were just going to replace the vanity and paint but then we found the original tile. It was under layers of glue and mastic. Don’t ask how many hours it took to rehab the floor. Later, we realized that there were missing tiles. I had to find historic tiles online and figure out how to lay tile. Next, we tried to install a sconce where the plumbing vent was located. One thing after another….. But in the end, I think it turned out well!

Fred and Lauren had a beautiful wedding at Deer Park United Methodist Church.  Their reception was held at Cullen’s American Grill after the ceremony.  I wasn’t familiar with Cullen’s before Lauren’s bridals.  It is this huge restaurant off of Space Center Blvd, just outside of Houston. Cullen’s has great ambiance and a really cool vibe.  I can’t wait to check it out for dinner sometime.  I love the images I was able to capture from their wedding day, especially all of the special intimate moments.  There is this image, just after Fred removes the garter that is priceless.  They are both rolling with laughter and clapping their hands with exuberance. It really shows their personality and how they feed off of one another. It reminds me of the way my husband and I feed off of one another. So cute!  Here are some of my favorite images.  So many to choose from.

Here are a few of the sights around our yard this spring. I started the tradition of planting hyacinths and tulips a couple of years ago. I stock up every year at the Houston Plant and Bulb Mart in the fall and then plant the bulbs in January.  By March the bulbs are in full bloom and smell amazing.

I love this time of year!   I like to work in the yard before the dog days of summer approach.  The weather has been beautiful and my husband and I have spent many Sunday mornings  lunging outside with a cappuccino and enjoying our garden.  The smell of jasmine is in the air and the promise of summer at the lake awaits.

I have known Catalina since 2002 when we worked together at a Toshiba dealer.  It was my first job out of college and it was an experience I will never forget.  The best part of the job was meeting Deana and Catalina and becoming friends.  I do not know how I would have hung in there as long as I did without their friendship and support.  I am glad that we have been able to retain our friendship all of these years.  I am also so happy for Catalina, mommy to be.  She will be an amazing mother!  Congratulations!  Here are some of the images from her recent baby shower.

UHD Graduation

May 10, 2011

Recently, I was able to shoot two portrait sessions for Reyna.  She has been quite busy planning a wedding and preparing for college graduation.  She is not only beautiful but also smart.  Reyna is graduating with honors from The University of Houston Downtown with a degree in education.  Any parent would be very luck to have Reyna as the teacher for their child.  She has a very bright future ahead.  Congratulation on your achievement!

As I mentioned, she has been studying for finals and putting the finishing touches on her wedding planning.  I was unavailable to shoot her wedding but enjoyed getting to shoot her graduation portraits and her engagement images.  Check back her engagement images should be posted soon.

It was January 29, 2011 and the weather was absolutely gorgeous!  I think it was in the 70′s that day.   Now that’s Texas weather for you.  The wedding was at Houston Oaks in Hockley, TX.  What a beautiful facility and it shows in all of the gorgeous bride and groom shots near the pond.  It doesn’t hurt that Nathan and Jenny are a cute couple and totally in love.  I was so excited when Jenny told me that she wanted to do a sneak peak before the wedding and complete all of the group shots.  I love the photos by the pond when Nathan sees his bride to be for the first time.  Their eyes  light up and they their smiles were enormous. I was able to capture some amazing shots.  Usually, I am running around trying to get as many shots in as possible because someone is late.  This time everything was perfect, it was relaxed and made for a wonderful event. Congratulations Jenny and Nathan!
